In a charged moment, Jackson feels the tension with Shelby shift as he navigates his curiosity about her past. After a playful game of pool, he takes her to a scenic overlook, hoping for a deeper connection. Their conversation sets the stage for a cozy evening filled with wine, chocolate and sparks.

Jackson wasn't fond of the sudden tension between them. If there was going to be tension, he wanted it to be sexual and animal. He wanted it to be because they were holding out and keeping feelings and needs and wants at bay, not because he had inadvertently demanded to know more than he needed to know about Shelby.

It wasn't like he was going to sit there and argue with her. If she didn't want to talk, fine. They'd move on. Shelby was visibly upset, though and since he wanted the promised and expected sexual escapade later that night, he didn't want her mad at him. A major move to set the wheels in motion to reverse was in order.
