Her hands trembled as she continued, fingers curling into a fist at the memory. "I hit him. Not hard, but hard enough to make him furious. He reached over with both hands and..."

Her fingers drifted unconsciously to her throat. "He…wrapped them around my neck. And he was... he was choking me. I was losing control of the car, pushing at him, clawing at his fingers to let go." Her voice grew thick and two lines appeared between her eyes as she squinted into he memory.

"Then I…I hit something. A dip in the road, a rock, something. I heard this...pop. The tires started squealing. And I felt the car like…veer because it was pulling, you know?"

"Right." Jackson's voice was barely more than a whisper.

"He let go, but it was too late to correct. We were out of control and we flipped and we flipped and we flipped..."
